Efter två hyllade album och ett antal vinylsinglar med "stockholms lo-fi kungar" Burek V
debuterar Mats Grönmark i dagarna (27 maj 2009) med sitt nya album "Tape Hiss Hit or Miss and Sometimes Even Bliss" inspelat av Christian Gabel (1900, Kanzeon, bob hund mfl.) i hans Studio Cobra.
Mats hoppar på sin nya skiva obehindrat mellan 50-talscountry, turkisk syntdisco, americana och steelguitarfunk utan att slå av på varken takten eller entusiasmen över skivans 39 minuter.
Två medlemmar från oldtimebandet The Rockridge Brothers kompar på ”Pulling Rabbits out of Hats” Pontus Juth, ståbas, & Ralf Fredblad på fiol och Daniel Wigstrand står för det fina Pedal Steel spelet.
I övriga låtar (samtliga liveinspelade) hittar vi bla. Christian Sandell på Octavergitarr, Mats Lutten Larsson trummor, Jerker Bergkvist (My Way) gitarr, Tommy Galento (Ok Star Orchestra, Galento) bas, Robert Karlsson (Eve and the Last Waltz) trummor, Eva Lalander (Eve and the Last Waltz) piano samt Christian Gabel på synthesizers, vibrafon mm. Mats själv spelar gitarrer samt diverse instrument upphittade i Cobras studiohörn.

Rhythm Ace Recordings are happy to present the debut album from Mats Grönmark called Tape Hiss Hit or Miss and Sometimes Even Bliss. This is Rhythm Ace Recordings 16th release so far. Formerly leader of “Stockholm´s lo-fi kings”indie rockers Burek V Mats is now releasing new solo-material for the first time. He is also a member of Eve and the Last Waltz and Hellon as well as an active studio and live musician on the Stockholm music scene.
The album that slowly emerged at studio Cobra became an eclectic mix of styles often played on the record player at Mats´s home with inspiration ranging from Smog, Sly & the Family Stone, Devo to Hank Williams. 10 of 15 recorded songs were chosen for the album. Unreleased songs included a track by the Baptist Generals. The track Ceramic Harmonica was recorded at home on a cassette porta-studio.
The album is recorded at the Cobra studio in Stockholm together with Christian Gabel of 1900 and bob hund. Top-notch bluegrass musicians Pontus Juth and Ralf Fredblad (Rockridge Brothers) is contributing as well as top-notch country-slinger Daniel Wigstrand on Pedal Steel. Also playing on the album are the top-notch players: Mats Lutten Larsson (My Way) Christian Sandell (Burek V) Jerker Bergkvist (My Way) Tommy Galento (Ok Star Orchestra) Robert Karlsson (Eve and the Last Waltz) Eva Lalander (Eve and the Last Waltz) and Christian Gabel.
Mats is adding acoustic and electric guitar as well as vocals and assorted dusty and antique instruments lying around at Cobra Studio. The album is recorded in its entirety on handed-down 2 inch tape.
